Nick -

I used to read and collect aeration material. There was a spate of excellent
articles in the 70s by Arlo Fast that described many of the effects and
benefits of lake aeration. Certainly, some wetland organisms and processes
could benefit from improved oxygen levels.

But...I do not recall ever seeing anything on wetland aeration. Maybe
because some wetlands are naturally hypoxic; aerating those might impact
their natural "functions" and "values." Others, which are not hypoxic, may
not benefit appreciably. Also, effective circulation in shallow,
structurally complex systems may be tough to do.

What kind of wetland were you interested in.

Hey all, does anyone have any ideas of the importance of aerating wetlands?
