to those interested in attending the NANFA 2006 convention in the show me
state...

i was watching tv the travel channel the other night and an ad came up for
missouri. i called the number and they sent me a booklet and nice map with all
the waters marked in blue :). not as good as my new mo gazeer but very nice.
also in reading thru the booklet, which is divided into 5 regions, i came
across several things i want to see around cape g in the southeast quadrant.
one being a 1100' mural along the riverfront there in cape girardeau as well as
a mississippi river overlook from cape rock. 2 history museums also sound
interesting both of which are exhibiting cherokee lore, artifacts and trail of
tears history.
also mentioned are camping and canoeing on the crystal clear current, jack's
fork and headwaters of the st. francis rivers. a snorkeling beacon to my
ears.
interesting elephant rock formations are about 80 miles away. there are
several swimming holes / snorkeling sites up that way too.
you can call 1-800-777-0068 and speak to a real missourian or go to
_www.visitmo.com_ (http://www.visitmo.com) and order your free missouri vacation
planner and map. lots of cool things to see and experience. however not much time
to do so! i will certainly use this info to help pick where i go for our
field activities. i hope to add a couple days for personal exploring both before
and after our gathering.
