Actually, many aquatic true bugs "sting," with the needlelike mouth,
but normally one would have to handle the bug to be stung, it would be
a single sting, and the victim would drop the bug immediately. I know,
from experience with this on several occasions -- belostomatics,
naucorids, and nepids are all very painful -- like a hornet stink.
