So far as I know, the only metacercariae that it could be would be
those of bird schistosomes -- not a real problem for people. I have
never heard of a native NA fluke for which people are definitive hosts,
or even incidental and occasional hosts, that causes such a rash. I
also know of no introduced one (such as the tropical schistosomes for
which snails are intermediate and which causes a serious blood
infection in its native and introduced tropical range) now in NA. This
still sounds like bird schistosomiasis -- swimmers itch, to me. That
minor and temporary irritation is simply that - an irritation that goes
away very soon.

If I had a reason or desire to collect in the same place again, I'd do
so.
