Most native fish that I have worked with seem to be able to take salt in
surprisingly high strengths. I have kept many species of minnows, as well
centrachids, esocids, salmonids, catastomids, ictalurids, amiids, and
percids-in-up to one third seawater strength. The key seems to be to add
the salt over several days. Also,-in-higher concentrations, I'd recommend a
seawater mix instead of straight NaCl.
