CSO's are ALLLLLL Over ohio. I think the govenor just did or is trying to pass something that will change the OEPA regs and allow blending of raw sewage too now. I lived about a mile or two from the main Akron Ohio plant that is on the Cuyahoga River. WOW was there a smell after a big rain. The CSO's in north east ohio are really bad too, it doesnt take much of a rain for them to start chugging out nasty stuff. Cleveland is dealing with having to update their system from pumping out into Lake Erie now and instead of 20 years they want to make it 30 years to complete, and they are raising sewer bills to near 150-200 a month over time.

Todd you should check out the Plain Dealer Metro section about end of August. They keep a running tab on the beaches and how many days they have posted advisories. Some of the beaches around Cleveland had them for 75% of the summer. Basically if it rains there is one for a week straight, or if there is no wind. Alot of it is old and poor breakwall design too, but the fact every 200 feet you see a stormwater pipe going into the lake, well you get the picture.

A couple of the NE ohio townships are implementing impervious surface regs into their zoning now, especially the ones seeing big sprawl. Aurora just did a city wide basin study for surface water, North Ridgeville is under alot of pressure to do one because of last years flooding (and they are on a huge hill, but thats what a concrete city does to you when the water has no where to go), and alot of the Geauga and Summit Co. Townships are doing little things.
