The Nature Conservancy is not in the nature preserve business they buy
land. Most is given to local groups, cities, states or the feds to manage.
They just try to keep it out of the developers hands. They also take
donations of land that has little for no conservation value and sell these
lands for money to buy critical pieces. I know they will prevent the taking
of plants or wildlife form their property and we all know that the taking of
some fishes will not destroy the ecosystem, but as Chris said better then
Wal Mart.
