I for one would absolutely love to have this fish but I know I don't have
the resources to keep a fish with such a huge growth potential much less the
money to buy such an expensive fish. A public aquarium would be ideal for it but
I am wonder if it is indeed what it is supposed to be. There are many
sturgeon being cultured these days and offered for sale in pets shops despite their
adult sizes of eight feet or more. For some reason no one seems to
interested in selling shovelnose sturgeon which get big (2 or 3 feet) but are-in-least
within the realm of fish keeping for a determined person. I'm betting this
is a more common captive breed white, green, or lake sturgeon someone is
trying to pass off as exotic to get a huge price from some unsuspecting fish
collector. If you look-in-the picture the fish is almost perfect with no torn fins
or other flaws. a fish caught in the wild and transported from China would
surely not be so perfect. I would expect a few flaws for a fish which would
have been subjected to shipping and handling probably very roughly if it was
really caught in China.
