I've been reading a book by Tim Low called "Feral Future". It details a lot
of the accidential and intentional introduction of hundreds of species in
Australia and other countries including the US. It's a lot worse than I
ever thought it was. Like someone else said, Ecconomic intrests trump
conservation everyday.
