One can't expect new listizens to hash through the code of ethics, etc. - most
people just come here to talk to other native fish nuts. Sure, our position on
captive release is published various places, but this comes up again and again
on this list, with hurt feelings as the usual result. I am just saying that
adding an email footer or something would get the message across without
bludgeoning people with it. Of course, there will always be those who say "Read
the damn email footers, you fool!", so maybe that isn't a good idea either.

A lot of people also don't know that there are regulations dealing with
collecting minnows and darters. It is not necessary to tell them multiple times
that they are doing something ILLEGAL either. Anyone who reads this list for
any length of time will figure out the rules, without anybody having to make a
point of correcting him. And a lot of people use this forum to decide if they
want to become NANFA members, and then the first thing they are hit with is
"elitist" criticism.

I know - it's just not like me to be sensitive to other people's feelings :-)
But this just bugs me.
