NANFA-L-- I - 40 Cookeville, TN to Greeneville, NC

Making the trip to Greeneville NC to present at a student AFS conference at Eastern Carolina next weekend and a few of us don't really wanna pass up the chance to jump in the water we will pass up. We can't stray far off the path/interstate for time and mileage reasons amongst other so that is a big consideration. I also really wanna hit the major physiographic regions, Blue Ridge, Piedmonts, Slope, etc. Does anyone have prior experience in water that would fit that criteria/proximity to I 40? Anyone jumped off that stretch of I 40 to collect? Also the immediate city of Greenesville is possible to check out too.
Todd, how far off 40 was that part of the Little Pigeon you mentioned last month?
