Do you really want to get rid of gobies and other invasives? Put a
bounty on them! Not per piece, but maybe per pound. This may work with
the gobies (I realize there are kabillions of them in the lakes). You
tell people that they will be paid X-dollars per pound, and they'll be
there netting em' up by the thousands. You might even get a few people
to actually get involved "conservationally" and realize the problems that
occur with invasive species.

Bounties worked great here in New England way back when, nearly wiping
out the timber rattlesnake, coyotes and others! And those were native
species!!! (Coyotes however, have made a great comeback).

So who's ready to put up the cash?
