Long ago -in the 60s-a 1200 gallon tank with LM bass ,
crappie , bowfin , gar and bluegill had an anchor worm
infestation . A fish needing a cleaning would position
near some bluegill and would become rather ridged ,
fins spread just slightly quivering and presenting
side on . If it were bluegill on bluegill the smaller
would usually clean the larger .This was back in the
time when cleaner wrasse were just making a big splash
in the media . I was never able to get any of the 4
instances when I saw this on film so I said nothing
.Didn't want to sound like a nut case . Cleaner
bluegill . Ha . Little did I know they already thought
I was nuts anyhow .Only remember crappie , bass and
blugill getting cleaned and only bluegill doing
cleaning .
