I've been giving some thought to trying powdered lava rock. It should contain
lots of minerals for plant growth. Any body like to comment on this? You can
go to the place where they sell lava rock in bulk and at the bottom of the
pile is always s a layer of lava rock powder. it can be black or brown.

I have been using Lava Rock in Henri DeBruyn type external filters and the
plants do seem to grow better. For the details see the AKA tape of his talk
at 2002 AKA Convention.
