Does anyone here live near Turkey Point Reactor in Dade County Florida,
or otherwise have access to Floridichthys carpio? Has anyone here ever
seen one? It sounds rather attractive in some descriptions, but not so
much in others.
This fish is something like Florida's answer to the Devil's Hole
Pupfish; it likes hot water which is very hard and salty. Very salty. So
salty that it'll only barely survive in a typical marine tank. It lives
in the hot cooling resevoir of Turkey Point Nuclear Reactor and a few
nearby spots.
It's decription is one of oodles of yellow, red, and orange polka dots
on a silvery green background. The black and white photo I found shows a
snakeskin pattern like a guppy's.
