sorry to take so long to respond -

my hard drive died repeatedly and I have been too busy to get to the net.

you can get a prescription from your vet if you have one, but its pricey.

you can also buy 'fish-flex' without a prescription, but it's still not
cheap-

check out these websites:

http://lambriarvetsupply.com/index.pl?category=Antibiotics&m=4
http://www.revivalanimal.com/Detail.cfm?ItemName=Fish%20Flex
http://www.thomasveterinarydrug.com/html/antibiotics.php

I am sure there are others, and I in *no* way endorse any of these websites.
use them at your own risk. I have never dealt with any of them so I don't
know their reputations. (Any other standard disclaimers I missed? ;-)

You can also buy cephalexin in mexico if you happen to be near the border.
You theoretically need a valid prescription to import it, but I have never
had troubles. This isn't because I'm a pharmacist, though... I'm actually
under more scrutiny as a pharmacist, not less. There would be concern that
I was importing it for sale which is a really big no-no and could lose me my
license. I think customs is more worried about other drugs. That's not to
say you won't get some gung-ho agent who confiscates your fish meds.

You might consider buying overseas if you are bold. I'm not. Somehow
giving some foreign national my credit card info strikes me as poor
judgement - sort of like the liberian diamond mine pitch I just got the
other day.
