After awhile yes, but they always seem to be 'stiff' if the rock bass is left in the tank with the algea too long. I read about a fish kill that involved an algea bloom awhile back that involved dead bluegill with bubbles trapped under their slime. The conclusion was that the the algea super oxydized the the water to the point where oxygen clogged cappilaries in the fish so much so it ended up killing them. I always attributed this problem to that but I don't know, maybe just a rock bass thing?

That's very interesting. DO the bubbles disappear by themselves once the fish
are placed in a different tank?
