It appears that is the right size for an ommata egg. The medakas ( rice
fish) are the fish closely related to killifish that spawn in this manner.
It could be that this was an accident with your fish, or something that was
never noticed before? I have had them spawn outdoors alot, but of course
would never notice that an egg or eggs would trail behind them on a
filament. In my tanks when I spawned them I did not see it happening, but
they were in a small tank with almost the entire tank filled with mops.
