I have seined small squid out of very shallow tidal pools (about 6") that sun
had run the temperature up far enough to make them feel hot to wade in. The
temps must have been around 110 degrees at least. but the tiny squid (about
1.5") were active and lived in a bait bucket long enough to make it home and
lived in a 150 gallon aquarium for about a month. I think the wind moving the
water enough to keep the oxygen level up allowed them to live along with lots of
other tiny fish.
