They have never lasted longer in my tanks, fish love to eat the baby ones I
bring home from the marsh, they are pea sized to dime sized. In my ponds I
have stocked them, and they still turn up, but that is cheating. I think if
you put them in a tank without fish predators, they may last longer. You
just have to have suspended foods for them.
