I've had both smallmouth & largemouth in a 120 gal.
After a year (so they were probably 2 yrs old) they were both around
8" long and eating me out of house and home.
One time a bud came over, we cracked a few beers and we were gonna relax
and watch the bass feed. Dumped 4 doz minnows in the tank, and in
45 seconds (we timed them) all the minnows were gone. Never even got to
sip our brews!
Was funny watching the smallie try to keep about 2 doz minnows in his
mouth (tails & heads hanging out
of his mouth...)
