My estimate was based on my experience. I have the 60 watt Jehmco pump that
is rated for 35 outlets. I am running 50+ outlets at 8-12 inch depths, but if
I submerge an open end air tubing to 18 inches it stops at about 16 inches.
Maybe if I had all outlets at that depth it would build up the pressure
required, or if I had only 35 outlets. However, normal air pump usage
requires a variety of depths. I am not disappointed in that failing since I
am getting many more outlets at the more usual depths than I bargained for. I
guess I should experiment with shutting down some outlets and see what
happens at the deeper level.
