I presume your in the east. Two blacknose dace ours in the Great Lake have
no orange on their fins-in-all. In the spring the males stripe turns rust
orange and the females look as if they have swallowed two or three marbles.
I saw the eastern fish in Virginia I new they were blacknose but much more
attractive than ours.
