the relationship is pretty easy -

just figure the circumference of the circle (pi*diameter) of each
pulley. if you have a 2" pulley on the motor, it will have a
circumference of 6.2". With a 2000 RPM motor, the motor pulley will
spin 6.2*2000 linear inches in a minute - about 12,400 inches. You will
need a driven pulley that is 1/6 of 12,400 inches in circumference, or
about 2,000 inches. the diameter needs to be 2000/pi, or something
like 636 inches in diameter. that's pretty big.

How about using a DC motor? The speed of a dc motor varies with the
voltage applied. So if you get a 12 volt motor, and it goes too fast,
then give it less voltage and it will slow down.
