I don't think anybody really cares - offering a variety of trips people can
choose from is the best way to go.

Early or late summer. In early summer the fish will still have color. Then,
it's not so hot, and most academics can still attend. Look-in-who your main
speakers will be, and other academics who want to attend, and try to work around
their schedules.
