Sturgeon enthusiasts will want to read the recent article from the Columbia
Daily Tribune:

http://www.showmenews.com/2005/Sep/20050906Busi006.asp

It notes that shovelnose sturgeon harvests have increased substantially in
recent years (e.g., seven fold in Missouri) due to increased demand for
domestic caviar. Northern states (MO, IL, KY, TN) are now imposing (or are
at least considering) seasonal and size limits to protect shovelnose
populations. Southern states (MS, LA) banned or regulated commercial
sturgeon fishing in the 1980s.
