Sturgeon do show up in petshops from time to time, mostly European sterlets
which are really a brackish water fish. But on the West coast they are selling
white sturgeon fingerlings even though their life time would have to be
limited in even a very large home aquarium. Sturgeon love to sift sand and eat all
sorts of worms, insect larvae and such but the one I had many years ago would
eat micro pellets like they were going out of style. A rock fell on him and
killed him....
