The live sand deal sounds like a good idea especially if combined with a
refugium. Maybe I fed mine too much, frozen blood worms was a staple of his
diet along with earth worms, blackworms, small crayfish, ghost shrimp, and
OSI tiny pellets. Possibly constant warm water temps were part of the problem.
