The fourth edition of Fishes of the world is published, 30 years after the
first edition was published by John Wiley and Sons. Nelson, J. S. 2006.
Fishes of the world. John Wiley and Sons, Inc. New York. 4th edition. ISBN:
0-471-25031-7.
The new edition with 601 pages, apart from the many fossil taxa, recognizes
extant fishes in 5 classes, 62 orders, and 515 families, with some 28,000
valid species.
The Website for 'Fishes of the world' contains links to Wiley & Amazon for
ordering information-- do look-in-the two sites and various Amazon sites for
best buy/possible discounts. There are also links for errata, information on
past editions, student exercises, etc.
